Basically, what the judges told me was that they liked my art-style; semi-realistic, good anatomy and they liked my design of elves. They also told me that the story was touching and inviting, but that it felt cramped into ten pages and ended very abruptly. They also told me to work on backgrounds, inking and perspective.
I feel very satisfied with this critique. They gave me clear notes on what was good and what I needed to practice on, and they didn't make it sound too harsh either. I also agree with the critique I got on the story; I based the plot on a short-story I wrote way back and tried to shorten it down so I could fit it into ten pages, and it resulted in a very abrupt and confusing ending. This is something I will try to practice on, as well as my inking skills (although my steel nib pencil passed away of rust recently...
Next on, I'm planning on making a short comic about my historical crush; Axel von Fersen and his queen, Marie-Antoinette. My goal is to make this into 10-15 pages, to practice suiting a story into a limited number of pages as well.
I'll try to upload "A dark night" on dA soon as well, I just need to get all the files in order!
