Description

It's been quite a while since I uploaded my first influence map, but I thought I'd do one more - to see how much I've changed since the first one.

First of all, since 2010, I've been getting much more into history, art history in particular, which has really inspired me and helped me develop my personal style. Also, being active on tumblr has helped me find lots of new artists out there I'd never otherwise have heard of. Video games has also became a larger part of my life - it was between 2010- now that I decided that concept art and video game design is something that I really want to do. So, here's a quick explanation of all sources;
1. J.C. Leyendecker. I'm so fond of his artstyle.
2. Ninjatic on deviantart ninjatic.deviantart.com/ This man must be stopped.
3. Giovanni Boldini. I fell in love with this artstyle the minute I saw this portrait of the duchess of Marlborough.
4. Alphonse Mucha. Huge fan of the art nouveau movement.
5. Matt Rhodes, concept artist for Dragon Age among others. Dragon Age in particular is also a huge source of inspiration for me.
6. Nesskain nesskain.deviantart.com/ Wonderful artist, love his use of colours
7. The human body. Anatomy has always fascinated me, and since I've gone to some croquis courses I've been more eager to improve my understanding of the body.
8. Tumblr; if I ever need quick inspiration, I always go to my dash or likes. Inspiration is never far away.
9. Yoshitaka Amano, a long-time source of inspiration.
10. Art history, or historical people in general. Here a portrait of Marie Antoinette by Elizabeth Vigée-Lebrun, two of my favourite historical people.
11. Bioshock infinite - there is not a thing I don't love about this game.
12. Downton Abbey. A period drama will always cheer me up, particularly this one.
13. Two steps from hell. Mostly when I draw, I listen to this sort of music.
14. Franz Winterhalter. One of my favourite artists - his ability to capture people's faces and materials just stuns me.
15. Game of Thrones. GRR Martin is currently my main source of inspiration for writing, and this story has really captivated me.
16. Rosie the Riveter. A feminist through-and-through, Rosie in particular is where I turn when I feel dejected about things in my life. These words are the ones I repeat to myself; "WE CAN DO IT".
